Clothing Selection Guide

This page will help you with ideas on pairing colors and accessories for your photography session. You can also reach out to me directly after scheduling your session for additional help in this area!

Picking your clothing is an important detail in the session.

Tips:

  1. It is better to coordinate colors rather than all match in the same color.
  2. Decide on your color palate, then select complimentary colors.
  3. Have no idea what color to go with? I suggest wearing any combination of cream, gray, and tan. It is pretty hard to mess that up and looks good in almost every setting and time of the year.
  4. Steer clear of multiple people in busy patterns. I’ve found that muted tones look beautiful together in a family picture. When picking patterns, choose smaller ones that won’t pull attention away from the main subjects, and only put one person in a pattern or small accessories with a pattern.
  5. Grab some accessories!!! Accessories give your photographs that needed punch! They lend pops of color, personality, and interest. This can range from a pop of color in a bow in your daughters hair, a scarf or statement necklace around moms neck, a timeless looking watch on dads wrist, a muted colored stuffed animal for your son to carry, etc. The great thing is we can add and remove different accessories throughout a session to change the images we create!
